It epitomises the strength, power and beauty of a woman that holds no bounds. This is an amalgamation of lots of padding and hair extensions. In my opinion this is a true crowning glory.’ ‘Visiting African tribes reinforced the power women had in their communities and how they used their hair to demonstrate the strength they had within. On one of my trips to the villages, I saw this delicate yet robust hair texture on a tribeswoman. Thin strands were pulled away from the head and wrapped around an arching wire. I found this very interesting and created my own version.’ ‘Female African warriors do not belong in the past; they are here in our society today. The tribal paint is an expression of unique beauty that comes from within and exists on the outside. I guess it’s an unconventional sort of glamour. I think the earth brown micro braids and reddish feathers pay tribute to that too.’ ‘The idea for this design transpired from a mask that had a beautifully crafted design on top of it. It was an extraordinary hairstyle that combined interesting shapes, colours and textures, so I took some of those elements and recreated it into a hairpiece that sits almost like a fixture’ tagged in Africa, Anne Veck, avant garde, black panther, braid, Emmanuel Esteban, hair, Tribal, tribeswomen, wakanda Share: facebook twitter pinterest google+ Leave a reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
