Spas should be about escapism (especially from noisy city life), and the Cotswolds provides the perfect setting, which is where The Greenway Hotel & Spa is happily situated. The unpredictable British weather meant I couldn’t take a stroll across the acres of green grounds on my arrival, but once inside 16th Century Elizabethan manor house, the quaint drawing room gives a charming sense of other worldliness. If you’re planning an overnight stay, and want to pull out all the stops for a loved one, it’s worth every penny to go for a suite as these have the best views in the house. The spa is equipped to suit all moods; if you’re hankering for a glam makeover there’s a Champagne nail bar and the al fresco hot tub is perfect for lovebirds. When it came to the treatments I opted for the Tranquility Face and Body Ritual that started with skin tingling body brushing to li dead cells, followed by a limb-by-limb exfoliating scrub. After showering, potions of Comfort Zone products, a luxury spa brand – with miniatures available in the rooms, were mixed together and luxuriously massaged into the face and body that had me leaving on a cloud of relaxation.
