Tucked away in the green fields of Staffordshire, this modern day spa could be mistaken for being located in Sweden. The wooden cabins, warm winter fire and outdoor hot tub with beautiful vistas are often associated with luxury Swedish spas, but without jumping on an EasyJet flight, can all be found at Moddershall Oaks. The Spa Escape package is for two people and comes with a five star boutique suite with access to a private hot tub. There are all the mod con features to make you unwind: a high-powered hydrotherapy pool, stone heated loungers and two pools. But the best highlights are the super-sized sauna room with views of the countryside woods and the pool-facing snug, which is an idyllic retreat after a treatment or a big lunch. Part of the escapism comes from the free activities on offer too. The forest trail is a lot of fun and a great way to connect with nature, so be sure to pack some comfy footwear. There’s bike riding and a tennis court too if you really want to let off some steam. The outdoor hot tub is open till 9pm, where you can have drinks bought directly to you (talk about star treatment), and the inclusive 25-minute Gold & Caviar back massage, and late check out are the perfect way to prepare you for the journey home.
