‘We have definitely seen an increase in requests for bowl cuts in the salon, from both women and men. The bowl cut is such a classic cut, but it can work for smart city types all the way through to high fashion and grungy looks, depending on how you wear it. Whilst Zendaya has gone for a very traditional, 60’s style sharp bowl cut which would require regular skilled haircuts, there are so many other variations of the bowl cut. Certain styles of bobs are loosely based on the bowl cut principal, but when cut slightly layered and worn wavy/messy a la Alexa Chung, you get a completely different take on the style. The bowl cut suits most face shapes, apart from a round face however you can easily overcome this by taking away a bit more weight out of certain areas, add more texture or style it to the side. This will still give the overall effect of a bowl but with a modern twist and something to suit your features.’
