The very best of British hairdressing talent was celebrated at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards 2021, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional.
The prestigious awards which was the first live event since 2019 brought the UK hairdressing industry together to celebrate the best in the industry.
The event was hosted by Rylan Clarke, HJ’s executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr and Schwarzkopf Professional UK and Ireland general manager Julian Crane. During the dazzling ceremony, guests were treated to entertainment from legendary musician Tony Hadley and live shows from the British nominees showcasing incredible hair artistry on the night.
The 18 Categories acknowledge the best hairdressers from nine British regions, as well as standout talent in eight specialist categories including Afro, Men’s, Avant Garde and Colour Technician.
The Afro category was won by Rick Roberts of Rick Roberts Hair. It’s the third time Rick, whose salon is based in Beverley has won the competition, which puts him in the Hall of Fame next year.
The main award, the British Hairdresser of the Year, was won by Robert Eaton with a collection that showed a diverse range of hair textures. It’s the second time this business owner from Leeds & Barnsley has been crowned British Hairdresser of the Year. Check out the other winners here.
