Make like the Model of the Year with this get the look

Adwoa Aboah was named Model Of The Year at the British Fashion Council’s The Fashion Awards 2017. MUA Celia Burton gives the full-face Glossier glam on Adwoa’s amazing red carpet look

Celia: When Adwoa told me that Stephen Jones had designed her a custom bronze head wrap I immediately thought of the super glamorous 70’s women such as Diana Ross and Sophia Loren. Paired with Michael Halpern’s unbelievable multi-coloured sequins, I decided to go Diana Ross-meets-Grace Jones, by creating a soft yet colourful design in a big and bold shape.

Skincare:
Adwoa loves a face mask, and had been sitting in Glam Glow’s super mud clearing treatment mask right up until I arrived at her hotel. After cleansing with Bioderma’s Micellar Water, I wanted to use a rich moisturiser to balance out the clay mask she’d used, so I applied Dr Hauschka’s Rose Day Cream, which is my favourite.

Eyes:
I always prime the eyelid to make sure whatever colour I apply looks big and bold and lasts the night. For this I used NARS’ smudge proof Eyeshadow Base, and applied it all over the lid and right up to the base of the eyebrow. I used a delicate lilac shadow all over the eye and then added some bright vibrant purple for a punch in the centre and a darker purple-y grey to build shape in the socket line and define the lower lash line. I then curled Adwoa’s eyelashes and applied Revlon’s Mega Multiplayer Mascara which is a great one if you need to just lift and lengthen. I added a little of Glossier’s Haloscope in Topaz (£18) to highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eye which finished off the eye perfectly.

Brows:
Adwoa has bleached eyebrows at the moment, and is loving it. Makes life easier for me since it’s one less thing for me to worry about, we just want to keep them brushed up and out, so Glossier’s Boy Brow in Clear (£14) is the dream product.

Lips:
It was all about the eye on this look so the lip needed to be balmy and natural. Since Adwoa was up for an award (and later won it!) it seemed appropriate to use Glossier’s slightly glittery version of Balm Dotcom in Birthday (£10) for that something-but-nothing look on the lips. She grabbed it off me once id applied it, insisting that she loved it and had to keep it. Must remember to get a new one for my kit…!
