New survey results
According to online hair and beauty retailer Hairtrade.com who looked at which cities stocked up on beauty essentials like fake tan and hair extensions, Londoners topped the table for buying the most hair extensions.
Their (or should we say our as the BBH HQ is based in the capital) love of long, glossy locks left other cities trailing well behind them in the hair extension league.
1. London
2. Oxford
3. Glasgow
4. Birmingham
5. Newcastle Upon Tyne
6. Basildon
7. Manchester
8. Bristol
9. Dublin
10. Sheffield
When it comes to luscious, long locks it’s the brainy women in Oxford who are the second biggest shoppers of hair extensions after Londoners, with fun loving Glaswegians closely behind them. Glamourous women from Birmingham and Newcastle make the top five thanks to their love of longer hair. The Essex town of Basildon, Manchester, Bristol, Dublin and Sheffield all make it the top ten.
Joanne Dodds from Hairtrade.com said: “It’s always interesting to look at the regional differences when it comes to what our shoppers buy and they always throw up some interesting results. Londoners always look amazing, and with so much going on in the capital it’s no surprise to see shoppers snapping up our hair extensions to give their locks added volume and length. Other major cities like Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow were also big fans. Hair extensions are perfect if you want to create a different look or simply add to the style you already have.”
