Jamelia’s gorgeous decorative high updo for her waltz dance is easy to achieve for all afro hair textures. If your hair is not long enough, don’t worry help is at hand, simply use hair extensions or a clip-in ponytail in the length and texture of your choice.
High updo how-to
Starting with freshly washed hair and add your favourite moisturiser we used Eco styler gel.
Using your brush sweep hair towards the crown (top) of your had and secure with a hairband.
Attach your hair extension ponytail over your natural bun and secure in place with hair pins.
To create swirls: add little styling mouse comb to the pony brush through blending the pony with your natual hair.
Take small sections of hair and wrap hair with heated bendy rollers to set. Once cooled, gently unravel the and pin the swirls into place with pins.
Finishing touches
For a super-sleek finish wrap your hair in a scarf for approx 30 minutes and use light mist of holding spray to set.
A smaller brush perfect to create those extra-smoothing of your hairline.
Decorate around your swirls with ribbons, flowers, jewelled hair combs for added drama!
