How To Achieve A-Lister Braids Using got2b’s Affordable £5.50 Product

Love Islander alum Amber Rose Gill brought the heat to the recent 2025 MOBO Awards as she took centre stage to present the Best Female Act award – sponsored by Official Hair Styling Partner, got2b.

Stylist Stefan Bertin created Doechii-inspired braids with a sleek, gripped finish, using a mix of cult classics and new launches from got2b. Amber served a sleek, sculpted cornrow moment that was equal parts chic and powerful – and we have the inside scoop on how Stefan created her look.

Here’s how Stefan created Amber’s look exclusively using got2b:

👩🏽 Prep the hair – The key for mastering cornrows is all in the preparation – Amber prefers not to have heat on her hair so we didn’t blow-dry it, but we did make sure it was detangled thoroughly and still slightly damp. For Amber Rose’s look I prepped by using a pea-sized dollop of the got2b gotGLOSS Shine Primer (£7) which is enriched with shea butter to keep hair moisturised, shiny, and tangle free. I also applied a few pumps of the got2b Oil-Licious Styling & Care Oil to nourish the ends and reduce frizz.

✨ Part and braid – Then I parted Amber Rose’s hair using a comb to create even sections, starting from the forehead and going to the nape of the neck. Before starting the braids, I used the new got2bGlued Wax Stick (£6) at the root of her hair to hold it in place.

🔐 Lock it down – Once the braids were done, I added a generous amount of the got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Hairspray (£7) to secure them. This is my go-to styling hairspray – it has super strong hold so I know hair will stay in place until taken out, and it is great for all hair types.
