February skincare with Tropic

With a limitless availability of skin care options, it can be exhaustive and expensive searching for the correct products. Our digital editor Vanessa takes a look at Tropic Skincare’s most promising products

Good Skin Day Serum
With the promise of targeting every imperfection, this serum is an instant skin transformer. I used this after showering and cleansing; once my skin had settled. This is thicker than the Super Greens serum by Tropic but soaked into my skin just as quick. It smells very fruity and untouched but not overwhelming. After the slight tingling had stopped I check my mirror after maybe 30 minutes and noticed a huge difference. My skin tone is very uneven especially on my face and I noticed that this serum had adjusted what was once a minor issue for me. On days where I haven’t got the effort to use make up I would definitely use this. Again because of the thickness of this serum I thought it would clog my skin but it in fact done the complete opposite. If you are new to the serum scene then a good place to start would be with this Good Skin Day.

Smoothing cleanser complexion purifier
This stuff is never ever leaving my shelf and I can definitely see why it is an award winner! I used this after wearing makeup for around 7 hours. I followed the instructions of applying a generous 2-4 pumps over my eyes, face and neck. It is super creamy and moisturising. I rinsed it off and again following instructions, applied another 1-2 pumps before a final rinse. I then used my Tropic Bamboo Cloth to wipe away any excess. I was so tempted not to wash this off as my skin loved it and I didn’t have that ‘partied out’ look I sometimes have after removing my make up. If removing make up leaves your skin very dry and tight then this cleanser would be a good change over option. It’s hard to believe that you’ve washed the product off as your skin feels really soft and supple once dry.

Vitamin toner pore refining mist
This mist is jam packed with the good stuff. The instructions give the options of spraying and leaving it to sink in or wiping away using a cotton wool pad. This depends totally on your skin so I opted for leaving it to sink in for extra moisture. It is milky in texture and really does refresh your skin. I used this after removing my make up just before bed. If you have mature skin that tends to feel a bit restricted then the anti ageing cranberry extract in this toner would be beneficial to you. You can smell the rose water though subtly and I’m a fan of the fact that it contains mango butter. This paired with the Tropic eye gel is a double pick me up for the whole face and if you’re looking for a slight moisture boost then this spray is perfect.

Skin revive nourishing cream concentrate
This contains one of my favourite ingredients Organic Shea Butter. Like all the products listed it has a subtle holistic scent so is great for women who struggle with overwhelming aromas. This rubs into the skin quickly without much manipulation and brightens the face straight away. I suffer with dry skin so followed the instructions of using this straight after using the mist above. It is an amazing cocktail as they work perfectly together! You get the moisture without the laden and heavy feeling. Rather than feeling clogged, your skin feels very airy and loose. If you want to give your skin that little bit more TLC as we approach a season change then I would highly recommend this.

Eye refresh cooling gel roll-on
If you’re extremely busy or always in front of a computer like me then you know how important it is to keep your eyes perked up. If you also don’t have time to do the whole ‘avocado mask and cucumber eye patches’ thing, then this eye refresh is ideal. Handbag friendly and definitely refreshing. I used this during a 4 hour car journey to Liverpool when I needed a little pinch. Key ingredients are organic aloe vera juice and cucumber juice and I love that it contains sea kelp – a favourite of mine. This eye gel will be ideal for summer nights when it gets quite humid. If you have a summer holiday planned, again this 10ml bottle of fresh would be worth taking.

Final thoughts…
I’m definitely a Tropic convert. I’m one of the not so lucky women when it comes to my skin as it usually reacts terribly to new products. Tropic worked a treat with my skin and definitely soothed current problems I was having. It is also purse friendly which is again good if you are shopping around and haven’t yet found that staple product for you. I love it when a product surprises me in a positive way and I’m looking forward to using this and other products by Tropic throughout the year – especially during the summer as they also smell divine!
