*The Pun is the lovechild of the ponytail and bun and is new spin on a classic bun which was seen all over the SS16 catwalks
Top Tools: Flat bristle brush/ strong hairband/ long hair pins/ hair grips
Top Tips: This look can be achieved on clean or 2nd day hair, as the natural oils will keep the hold of the PUN without having to use too much product
Hair ideally needs to be shoulder length or longer for this style to have maximum impact with the loose ends contrasting to the structured bun
1. On clean hair, spray a lightweight texturising spray into dry roots. Do not use a hairdryer to dry in, allow to dry naturally as you style the hair in place
2. Take a flat bristle brush (ideally Mason Pearson) and smooth the hair into a really clean ponytail, and secure with a hairband in the position you want the pun to be in
3. Use strong hair pins (long straight ones)- not grips, and twist the ponytail into a bun around the base of the ponytail. Use the long pins to secure by hooking the edges of the bun, and folding along the scalp and back on themselves hiding them underneath the bun itself
4. Repeat around the edges until the bun feels tight and secure
5. Leave the last few inches of the hair out and secure by using a hair grip at the end/ base of the loose strand- grip flat against the scalp
6. Gently brush the ends of the ponytail to smooth through, and use a light coating of shine spray around the front hairline and the surface for max shine and control on flyways
