In the Boots TV ad, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie looks absolutely stunning in a gold 50s style dress as she walks though a meadow of autumn leaves.
The Nigerian born feminist, talks about society’s take on women and make-up as part of the ad.
‘Our culture teaches us that if a woman wants to be taken seriously, then she’s not supposed to care too much about her appearance.’
She goes on to speak about her relationship with make-up and makes a very poignant statement about self acceptance and confidence.
Although the advert is short, it has a very powerful message and offers some serious food for thought.
