Hair colouring can be tricky to get right though and whilst Alesha looks fabulous many of us will wonder how to get this look ourselves…
The experts at Whitney Marie hair have years of experience not only dyeing hair, but also hair extensions. Here are their top tips on how best to achieve Alesha’s look at home ….
Tip 1 – Your Shade
When selecting an at-home hair colour, never go more than two shades lighter or darker than your current shade. If you are looking to completely transform your colour do this gradually over time.
Tip 2 – Practice makes perfect
If you’ve never used at-home colour before, it’s important to practice. Test your skill the day before you colour using gloves, a paint brush and conditioner. This was you can mimic the motion of spreading the product all the way from root to tip.
Tip 3 – Preparation
There is nothing worse than ruining your clothes and staining the floor whilst colouring your hair. Throw on old clothes or better yet a hairdressing smock and set up a station of gloves and old towels before you get started.
Tip 4 – Application
Hair colour can feel tingly and uncomfortable if your scalp is too clean. Always apply hair colour to unwashed hair. The natural oils act as a buffer to the product.
Tip 5 – Patience and Precision
Colouring thick and/ or long hair can be time consuming, but try not to get frustrated and skip strands. Try dividing your hair into four sections to make it more manageable.
