Eye make up that wakes you up

Denise Rabor tells you how to get rid of hung over eyes

When you wake up, the first thing you need to do is cool those babies down! Simply place cucumber slices on each eye to refresh them and give them a boost. To reduce the puffiness underneath your eyes try dampening two tea bags with luke-warm water and place on your eyes. The caffeine in the tea bag will work to de-puff your eyes while the antioxidants in the tea leaves will work to reduce swelling and tighten the skin around the eyes.

A hangover is essentially dehydration and the next step is to hydrate the skin around the eyes with a concentrated moisturiser like Shisheido Concentrate Facial Mosturising Lotion. Then we can hide those pesky red blotches and dark circles that appear after a night of heavy partying with a heavy duty concealer like Cover FX Cream Concealer with enough density to counteract redness.

Open up your eyes with Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara and if you’ve got the energy, curl your lashes first as this will really help to open up your eyes. If you have dark eyes use a navy blue mascara to brighten the eyes. Then it’s time to correct and conceal those dark circles by Stila Correct & Perfect All-in-one Colour Correcting Palette. Use a yellow shade if you have light skin, and an orange shade if you have darker skin – and dab a little of it around the under-eye area before applying your foundation as normal.
