4 beauty balms your skin need this winter

Soften and hydrate winter skin with our selection of  balms

Balms are healing, hydrating and luxuriously thick. A mix of oils, waxes, and sometimes butters, balms generally contain no water and have been used for centuries to heal, soothe, moisturise and smooth skin.

Come winter my skin is crying out for moisture. The mix of moisture-wicking clothing, central heating and cold temps plays havoc with our skins’ hydration. Balms by their nature are thick and oily and may be too much for all-over application. So, to save looking like a butterball, I save balm usage for feet, elbows or anywhere there’s a rough patch of skin. Check out our edit for the latest balms.
